The Caribbean vacation.

Caribbean vacation, anyone? Have you thought about heading to the islands but keep putting it off, for one reason or another? Want to time things just right? Not sure if going in the winter or summer -low season or high – would be better? Worried about what you’re really getting yourself into? There is no time like the present, as the saying goes, and taking a Caribbean vacation truly is a present to yourself like no other.

The world’s cleanest and clearest waters offer tourists the opportunity to enjoy sun and fun in a place that is warm year-round. Some popular destinations include: Aruba, Antigua, Anquilla, Bonaire, Barbados, Bermuda, the Bahamas, Curacao, the Cayman Islands, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Freeport, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Jamaica, Martinique, Nevis, Nassau, Paradise Island, Puerto Rico, St. Kitts, St. Vincent, St. Lucia, St. Croix, Tortola (British Virgin Islands), and a slew of other islands and cities on the mainland of South and Central America.

Not only are there many places to visit and experience during a Caribbean vacation, but the crowning jewel of the experience is that all of the islands are within a small area and easily accessible to each other. There are often daily ferryboats from one island to the next, providing a wide panorama of different settings for your Caribbean vacation.

The activities that one can find on a Caribbean vacation are numerous. There is shopping galore not only at regular stores as one would find in Europe or America, but also open markets and bazaars that will hone not only your shopping eye, but your bargaining skills while at the same time enticing the senses.

Many water sports are, of course, available. There is swimming, fishing, snorkeling, water skiing, jet skiing, scuba diving, undersea spelunking, and underwater archeological sites to see (including a few sunken cities that have scientists baffled). Often times your hotel will even offer free scuba lessons.

If this is just too much activity, and your idea of a Caribbean vacation is something more subdued, the islands offer some of the cleanest white-sand beaches throughout the world with plenty of sun, Sun, SUN! To top this off, waiters will serve you some of the finest tropical drinks known to man, including pina coladas, margaritas, and nada coladas for children and those adults who prefer non-alcoholic beverages..

If meeting someone is on your mind, the beach is a fantastic place as the tropical setting tends to make everyone happier, friendlier, and more romantic. After watching a beautiful sunset you can step into the night life! The Caribbean hosts some of the most exciting, energetic nightclubs in the world, featuring music of all types. Reggae, calypso, salsa, lambada, goa, techno, house, you name it -whatever form of music or style of dance you like, it’s here. Only beware, these are the types of places where you just may make a friend, or ten. So, climb aboard! Whether it is by boat or by plane, the islands welcome you.

There are many islands that you could visit during your Caribbean vacation. A visit to the West Indies (as the Caribbean is also called) would be wasted if you would just settle in one spot. There are almost 500 wonderful destinations to experience, and a total Caribbean vacation, though taxing, would be maximized if you would try to visit as many of these spots as you could. This is the reason why a Caribbean vacation is often conducted through a cruise along and across the Caribbean Sea, to experience destinations like the Cayman Islands, the Virgin Islands, the British West Indies, Grenada, Jamaica and a slew of other popular tourist spots.
